Who is Jon?

About

Jon was born at a very early age, with no money, no credentials, and absolutely no idea what he was doing… mostly because he was a baby. Through better-than-average parents, about 10% more good luck than bad, sheer determination, and a little moxie, he eventually became a somewhat reasonable human being who knows what he’s doing. Mostly.

A man of simple pleasures, Jon enjoys good music, bad jokes, and the smell (and taste) of fresh-baked bread. Living in Seattle means that Jon has climbed mountains for no apparent reason, voluntarily submerged himself in Washington state’s frigid waters, and attended many concerts featuring musicians considerably more talented than himself.

Friends describe him as dependable, occasionally as the “loud albeit funny” friend (they don’t say “albeit”), and remarkably difficult to get rid of once he’s found his people.

His personal ambitions are modest: enjoy life, make people laugh, and someday remember why he walked into the kitchen.

He is currently accepting compliments, consulting engagements, and reasonably priced lunch invitations.

Things I Like

Interests

These are a few of my favorite things:

Spending time with family, hanging out with friends, game nights that go well past everyone’s bedtime, live music, slappin’ da bass, attending as much stand-up comedy as legally permitted, movies (all the movies), a good grilled ribeye, Big Mario’s pizza, backpacking in the mountains and re-thinking my life choices halfway a third of the way up, noodling on my Telecaster, international travel, a cheeseburger from Dick’s, road trips with no particular destination, Matt’s hot dogs (specifically the chili dog), the history of technology, paddleboarding and occasionally remaining upright, making a joyful racket on my DW drum kit, observing wildlife from a reasonable distance, every dog (without exception), lifelong learning, and occasionally making questionable decisions purely for the sake of a good story.

And my five absolute favorite things in chronological order: Alaine, Evan, Bryce, Taylor, and Matilda. I guess Neville, Rutabaga, and Pippi are in there, too.

How Do I Make Money?

Work

I spend my time helping businesses solve problems with delivery, untangling complexity, rooting out inefficiencies, and creating order out of chaos. I’m incredibly passionate about the work I do.

Regardless of what I do at work, I remain a man with simple dreams: a business process that could be more efficient, a project delivered on time and on budget, a website that doesn’t break, and just one meeting that couldn’t have been an email.
